The kit has been translated into 40+ languages and can be downloaded for free. So bring your podcast ideas to the workshop and learn how to use new tools to create better podcasts.
Kyle James is a journalist, trainer and media development consultant from the United States. He began working with Deutsche Welle in 1999 and with DW Akademie in 2008. He has a master’s degree in journalism from the University of California, Berkeley, with a focus on audio reporting and production. Besides reporting for DW, he has regularly filed for NPR and Marketplace Radio in the US. He has facilitated podcasting workshops in Myanmar, Cambodia, Kenya and Bangladesh and has trained in over 15 other countries on topics including radio production, climate reporting, constructive/solutions journalism, and media and information literacy, among others. He writes the PodCircle newsletter put out monthly by DW’s PodcasTraining team.
Nicolas Martin - is a journalist and editor working for the business editorial department of Germany's International Broadcaster Deutsche Welle and Deutschlandfunk. Since 2020, Nicolas Martin has specialized in the conception and production of podcasts. Nicolas produced DW's first English-language investigative storytelling podcast Cannabis Cowboys, which received numerous podcast awards. For ten years, Nicolas has also been passing on his knowledge in practical training sessions - for the DW Academie and other- German and international clients.
