Work with us to build resilience into journalism

This year, our focus is to build resilience into journalism by working on five areas: freedom, funding, leadership, storytelling and digital.

To achieve this mission, we’re committed to help and support new journalism leaders, freelancers and new forms of storytelling, especially on underreported topics. Our Grants team is putting a lot of effort into encouraging journalists to develop new skills and experimental reporting, while our Engaged Journalism Accelerator programme is supporting news organisations putting community engagement at the centre of their work.

To help our teams to achieve their goals, we are looking for two Project Managers to join our Grants team (closed) and Engaged Journalism Accelerator team (closed).

Project Manager — Grants team (application deadline 4 July, 2019)

Since 2013, the EJC has been supporting development journalism through grants programmes, trainings and events of all sizes. These activities have helped to build a large community of journalists and media houses who have made their mission to raise awareness about international development issues.

To develop new activities for our community, we are looking for a Project Manager with event organisation experience to join our Grants team.

As Project Manager in the Grants team, you will organise high-level conferences on development journalism gathering a large number of participants from Europe and abroad. Your primary responsibilities will include putting together programme strategies, liaising with speakers & participants, and facilitating all the necessary logistics.

The detailed role description and requirements can be found here.

Project Manager — Accelerator team (applications closed)

Through our Engaged Journalism Accelerator, our mission is to accelerate the skills, people, ideas and knowledge transfer of news organisations, in order to help create positive, more resilient and more impactful relationships between them and the communities they serve. Our vision is to inspire and enable all news organisations across Europe to empower communities and their conversations and create long-term solutions that can positively impact journalism and society.

As our Accelerator programme evolves, we want to temporarily build capacity within our team in order to continue to create high-quality resources, enhance the accessibility of information and people within our community, ensure rigorous intelligence gathering and analysis, and maintain efficient management of our grants and other programme strands.

The detailed role description and requirements can be found here.
