Building on the European Journalism Centre’s partnership with the Google News Initiative (GNI), we are excited to announce that this summer we will be launching a European climate journalism award, with the winners to be announced in the autumn at our 2023 News Impact Summit in Lisbon.
Climate Journalism Award
With this new award, the EJC and GNI want to showcase the wealth of journalistic formats being used to inform audiences about climate change. The purpose of the award is to recognise innovative thinking on climate reporting and to highlight journalism that uses new tools and novel storytelling techniques to better explain climate stories across five categories:
News Impact Summit: The Future of Climate Journalism
Winners of the award will be announced at our News Impact Summit which will take place on 12 October 2023 in Lisbon. The Summit will be open to anyone who wants to learn more about climate journalism. Get ready for an engaging day filled with keynotes from experts in the field, panels, interactive break-out sessions, and plenty of networking opportunities.
