Climate Frontline

Strengthening newsrooms and communities in Europe for resilient futures

The Climate Frontline Project is a new one-year initiative, co-created by the European Journalism Centre  and REVOLVE,  will specifically support four local newsrooms in the climate-affected regions of Valencia, Leiria/Coimbra, and Baixo Alentejo.

These newsrooms will participate in this unique opportunity to strengthen journalistic capacity and increase audience engagement.

As part of the programme, they will receive:

  • A dedicated grant to produce a high-impact journalistic project;
  • Tailored training and mentorship from climate and media experts;
  • Opportunities to collaborate strategically with civil society organisations and climate specialists.

The Climate Frontline Projects is a collaborative effort to bridge the gap between science, journalism, and community engagement. It equips local newsrooms in Spain and Portugal to better inform and engage communities on climate risks.
