Dear grantees,
We already have the four newsrooms that will be part of the Climate frontline project: Sul Informação and Jornal Região de Leiria in Portugal, and El Salto Diario and elDiario in Spain. We are excited that you have agreed to join our pilot initiative and, as already mentioned during our introductory calls, we are reaching out with our first request for your input.
The following survey is designed to capture the challenges you/your organisation face when reporting on climate hazards.
Once we have received your input, we will schedule a short online meeting (mid-September) with all four organisations to further discuss your needs, challenges and best practices. This will help EJC and REVOLVE design and adapt the (training) activities within the Climate frontline project in a way that is best suited to support your work.
In our last question, we are asking you to also give us feedback on the design and structure of the survey itself - is there anything else you feel like is worth sharing/asking. Please, give us your feedback so that we can improve the survey, which will be publicly launched across Europe (September-October) in an attempt to capture the challenges and opportunities journalists and media face when reporting on climate hazards. The results will be used for the development of a Climate Hazard Reporting Toolkit and will help us demonstrate how the media can play a stronger role in keeping communities informed and decision-makers accountable.
Please complete the survey by 5 September. It takes about 10 minutes to complete.
