Zapaday is an open news agenda and a global public online calendar.
By collecting and aggregating event listings from around the world, it aims at helping users to get insights into the future, plan ahead and save time.
Zapaday can be a useful planning tool for journalists, bloggers, political analysts, marketers, event organisers, PR professionals, scientists and travelers.
Editors and bots at Zapaday monitor 4.000 news sites and calendars for future events and news stories.
Users can also create and publish their own events and calendars in wiki-like fashion, re-using events and calendars of others.
Zapaday is an open and free tool but still in private alpha - which means that the software can only be downloaded with an invitation code.
Founded in 2008 in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, Zapaday won an award as most promising start-up company across Europe at Tech Media Europe 2011. The website is run by Managing Director Stefan Hoevenaar and Community Manager Maria Palaiologos.
An editorial planning tool based on Zapaday is expected to be launched in 2012.
