From outside Iran, Jaras reports on the Green Movement

A group of dissident Iranian politicians and journalists, mostly living in the United States and Europe, established the news site Jonbesh Rahe Sabz, known as Jaras, in late June, 2009, as a platform for stories about recent events in their home country. Jaras published its first stories on 20 June, eight days after Iran's 10th disputed presidential election. Iranians in Tehran, as well as in major cities outside the capital, poured onto the streets — and simultaneously, YouTube and 24-hour news channels around the world — to voice vehement concerns about the election results. Jaras has aligned itself with these citizens and their Green Movement; it's often quoted by international news organisations such as BBC, Al Jazeera and others as the voice of the opposition group.

Why Iran will never be the same again

Saideh Jamshidi, an Iranian-American reporter for Free Speech Radio Network, provides insight into the role of Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei. Khamenei is the real power in Iran and, until recently, his rule went unquestioned. But in backing Ahmadinejad on 19 June, he underestimated the Iranian people. The protests may have died down, but Iranians continue to fight for reform and a freer society, in any they can.
