Applications Open for KPF-EJC Fellowship

12 February 2009 | PRESS RELEASE

We invite you to apply for the Korean Press Foundation-European Journalism Centre fellowship programme. The fellowship includes a 10-day tour through South Korea.

The aim is to promote comprehensive understanding of the Northeast Asian nation. The tour includes lectures, meetings and interviews about politics, economy, society and culture.

The KPF-EJC will provide fellows with a payment in national currency equal to 500 euros to partially cover the flight ticket. Accommodation, local transport, interpretation and subsistence fees will be covered by the organisers.

Eligible journalists will have five years full-time experience and command of the English language. Print journalists or editors are recommended to apply, but freelance journalists and broadcast journalists are also welcome. All programmes will be conducted in English.

The application deadline is 15 May at 12:00 a.m., Brussels time. You will need to submit a motivation letter in addition to a recommendation letter. A statement of support and agreement to a 10-day leave of absence from your employer is also required.

The Korea Press Foundation is, like the EJC, an independent, non-profit organisation dedicated to promoting professional journalism.

Fellowship Programmes
The EJC runs two fellowship programmes in collaboration with Japanese Nihon Shinbun Kyokai and South-Korean Korea Press Foundation. These exchange programmes enable Japanese and South Korean media workers to get acquainted with EU politics and media culture, while also promoting a greater understanding of South Korea and Japan among European journalists visiting these countries.
